PORTO MARIONETTE MUSEUM
FREE AND GUIDED TOUR
Right in the historic center of Porto, on Belomonte Street, there is a place of utopia.
A small and charming museum, dreamed by the founder of the Porto Puppet Theater, João Paulo Seara Cardoso.
123 puppets from 13 company shows are on display, following a 32-year journey of creation.
Here, there are experiences that cannot be missed: a guided visit by one of the actors of the company, which will make them dive into the universe of puppets, their stories and curiosities.
And the workshop "You Manipulate", in which wach participant (or pair) will receive a kit with the parts of a puppet. After the assembly, we will experiment with handling techniques and scenic constructions. In the end, each one will be able to present what they have learned.
In this museum, all the pieces, props and puppets have had a previous life; were created for company shows, and it is this past and stage memory that makes each one deeply special.
Enter the fantastic universe of this art!
