VILLAR D'ALLEN FARM
Guided tour by the Allen family
300 metres from the Freixo Palace, Quinta de Villar d'Allen is Porto's last living example of 19th century bourgeoisie properties. It has been the mother house of the Allen family for 180 years, of English origin, with connections to Port and Port Wine dating back to 1701.
In the 5 hectares of garden and forest you can breathe harmony and tranquillity between several century-old trees and a collection of more than 600 camellias. The house, whose atmosphere is still in 1860, brings together portraits of 6 generations of Allens, as well as various historical objects from the family and the country. Finally, at the imposing dining room table, you can taste a 20 Year Tawny created by the current patriarch, José Alberto, following 3 centuries of Allen legacy.
Don't miss this amazing journey through time!
