300 meters from Palácio do Freixo, Quinta de Villar d'Allen is the last living example of the 19th century bourgeoisie properties nearby Porto.
This has been the Allen family’s mansion for more than 180 years, a family with British origins, deeply involved in Porto and Port Wine, dating back to 1701.
In the 5 hectares of garden and forest, you can breathe harmony and tranquility among several centenary trees and a collection of more than 600 camellias. The house, whose atmosphere is still in the 1850s, brings together portraits of 6 generations of Allens, in addition to various historical objects from the family and the country.

Hours: General public: on some Saturdays, at 10.30 am, to be confirmed;

Regular Visits:
Opening hours: Thursdays and Saturdays in alternate weeks, at 3:30 pm.
Organized groups can select different days and timings, subject to availability.
Booking with at least 48 hours in advance is required.
Limit of people per visit: groups from 15 to 25 people. Smaller groups will be required to pay the equivalent to 15 people.
Prices:
Visit to the gardens: 10€ per person. Estimated duration 1,5 hours.
Full visit: gardens, historical rooms and Villar d'Allen’s Port wine tasting: 24€ per person. Estimated duration 2,5 hours.
Full visit with Vintage Port wine tasting, opening with fire heated Port tongs: 50€ per person. Estimated duration 3 hours.
